Mussels, oysters, clams, cockles… Digging for all types of shellfish on the beaches and creeks is like finding hidden treasures. Listen to the murmurings of seashells and perhaps you will hear the secrets that inspired local artists.
There are several possibilities for you to discover this fascinating world:
- Head off on your own to dig for shellfish. Clam digging can be enjoyed by everyone at low tide. Plan on beginning 1 ½ hours before the following low tide (consult the tide schedule). In order to combine clam digging and environmental respect, only collect what you will eat and be sure to put rocks and stones back in their original position.
- Visit a shellfish producer and allow the professionals to initiate you to oyster/shellfish production (list available at the Tourist Office in Pornichet)
-Explore the Seaschell road and fall under the charm of the various landscapes where you can discover the multitude of our coastline’s resources.
