Pornichet is a mere 45 minutes drive from Nantes’ vineyard country. Since the Middle Ages, Nantes’ vineyard has been the birthplace of several wines: Gros Plant, Cotes de Grandlieu and the renowned Muscadet. The sun-bathed hillsides benefit from the Atlantic as well as from the rivers the Sèvre Nantaise and Maine, to produce a vivacious and refreshing wine.
Nantes’ vineyard stretches along the Loire River, from the coastline to the hillsides of Anjou. Covering more than 15,000 hectares, it is unquestionably one of the largest vineyards in France dedicated to the production of an AOC white wine. The Museum Vignoble Nantais will tell you its history and initiate you to the wine producing process.
Come and taste these fine wines in the different wine cellars around Pornichet!
