Our Sustainable Tourism Commitment
For over 10 years, the town of Pornichet has been actively engaged in the ecological transition.
That is why, at the beginning of 2025, we joined the Green Destinations sustainable tourism programme, with a clear ambition: protecting the quality of life of local residents, offering the best possible experience to our visitors, while supporting balanced and responsible economic development.
But what does that actually entail in practice?
Pornichet, a seaside town committed to sustainable tourism
In Pornichet, the ocean is far more than a backdrop. It is a fragile balance to protect and a heritage to preserve for future generations.
In 2026, the destination reached a major milestone by receiving the Silver Award from the international Green Destinations programme. This demanding recognition is based on more than 75 criteria, assessing sustainable destination management, environmental preservation, heritage enhancement and the overall quality of the visitor experience.
This distinction makes Pornichet the first destination on the Atlantic coast of France to receive this level of recognition. It reflects a long-standing collective commitment shared by the Municipal Council, the Tourist Office and local stakeholders across the destination.
Pornichet continues to develop a tourism model that balances attractiveness, quality of life and respect for natural resources. An ongoing process of continuous improvement driven by the ambition to create a sustainable and balanced experience for both residents and visitors alike.
Le Passeport Vert : voyager autrement
Et si le séjour commençait dès le trajet ? À Pornichet, on encourage les mobilités douces pour découvrir la destination à son rythme, tout en préservant son environnement.
Pour les visiteurs qui choisissent de venir en train, à pied ou à vélo, l'Office de Tourisme propose le Passeport Vert.
Un petit sésame à récupérer à l'Office de Tourisme, puis à faire tamponner chez les partenaires engagés de la destination. Il donne accès à des réductions et avantages dans une sélection de restaurants, commerces et activités : découvertes gourmandes autour des produits locaux et de saison, activités nautiques, visites guidées, locations de vélos…
Une belle façon de remercier les visiteurs qui, par leurs choix, contribuent eux aussi à faire vivre un tourisme plus durable à Pornichet.
Et pour aller jusqu'au bout de cette démarche, le Passeport Vert est fabriqué en papier ensemencé : une fois planté, il laisse pousser de petites fleurs.

Pornichet Tourist Office “classé”
Since 2013, Pornichet Tourist Office has held the prestigious Category I classification, the highest official distinction awarded nationally. This classification is renewed every five years by the French administration, with the latest renewal completed in 2024.
A commitment to service excellence
Pornichet Tourist Office has also held the Qualité Tourisme certification for several years. The certification was renewed in August 2024, achieving an outstanding 96.82% compliance rate against the national quality standards — a clear recognition of service excellence.
