Shore fishing is permitted along the Pornichet coastline, provided current regulations are respected.

Before heading out, we recommend checking tide schedules, minimum catch sizes, authorised quantities and any temporary health restrictions currently in place.

⚠️ Certain areas may be temporarily or permanently closed for health and safety reasons. Please check the Regional Health Agency (ARS) website regularly to verify water quality and shellfish harvesting conditions.

The species most commonly collected in Pornichet include periwinkles, mussels and limpets. Be sure to respect minimum sizes, catch limits and regulated fishing areas.

👉 To make the most of shore fishing, plan to arrive at the beach at least 1 hour 30 minutes before low tide.

Shore fishing is permitted at Pointe du Bé and Plage de Bonne Source.

Before heading out:

• Bring appropriate equipment (boots or sturdy shoes, approved tools, bucket, shell measuring gauge) 

While fishing:

• Use authorised tools only (shellfish rake or clam knife with regulation-sized handle) 
• Respect legal size limits and authorised quantities by checking the official Pays de la Loire regulations 
• Only collect what you genuinely plan to consume 
• Replace rocks or stones you move 
• Open, broken or foul-smelling shellfish should never be eaten

Yes, during part of the year: from September 15th to June 15th, dogs are allowed on a leash.

During summer, dogs are prohibited on beaches for hygiene reasons.

Free dog waste bag dispensers are available throughout the various areas of town.

Dogs are allowed year-round on the coastal path, provided they remain on a leash.

Smoking is now prohibited on all beaches in Pornichet.

Yes, absolutely.

Kitesurfing is permitted beyond the 300-metre swimming zone, accessible via a designated channel located on Plage des Libraires.

Land sailing is permitted outside the summer season.

Campervan parking is permitted provided local parking rules and public hygiene regulations are respected.

Yes. A dedicated campervan area is located at:

2 chemin des Prés de l’Étang

This area is authorised for parking only.

If you require service facilities, several service areas are available nearby.

Parking is free throughout the town of Pornichet.

However, some blue zones located near shops limit parking to 30 minutes or 2 hours.

A parking disc is required from 9am to 7pm, every day including Sundays and public holidays.

Parking discs are available at the Tourist Office for 2.50€.

Several public car parks are also available and indicated on the town map available online or at the Tourist Office.

Household waste is collected every Monday, all year round, across the entire town.

Recycling collection depends on your area:

• Town centre sector: Wednesday from 4am 
• Coastal sector: Thursday from 4am 
• Countryside sector: Friday on odd weeks from 4am 

🗑️ Please place bins outside after 6pm the evening before collection.

Bulky waste collection takes place every second Thursday of the month.
