Café du Quai: Theater and Live Music

Two plays, two worlds, one stage: let yourself be swept away by theatrical performances that promise excitement, laughter, and surprises!
The Compagnie théâtrale de l'Océan is presenting two theatrical performances at the Café du Quai on April 29: the comedies “The Fox and the Frog” by Sacha Guitry and “The Bear” by Anton Chekhov. They will be followed by musical entertainment provided by volunteers from the Café du Quai.

“The Fox and the Frog” by Sacha Guitry
Two friends of loose morals (Rosy and Jeannette) discuss their romantic conquests over a cup of tea. When Lucien—Rosy’s very wealthy and generous lover—proposes marriage under the community property regime, she accepts, overjoyed, without realizing that her lover is nearly bankrupt.

“The Bear” by Anton Chekhov
Mrs. Popova, a widow for nine months, cannot get over her grief and constantly laments before the portrait of her late husband. When Smirnov, an artillery lieutenant and landowner, comes to collect a debt owed to him by her late husband, she asks him why. The discussion quickly escalates into a heated and bitter exchange.
