Located in the center of town, yet untouched by the hustle and bustle, Bois des Évens reveals itself to those who take the time to venture inside, via Avenue des Évens or Avenue Porson. Inside, the contrast is striking: the noise fades away, the light filters through the foliage, and it's hard to believe you're only a few steps away from the bustling streets of Pornichet.

This 4,000 m² plot of land wasn't always intended to welcome walkers. In the early XXᵉ century, it was used as a vegetable garden to feed the residents and staff of the Villa Ker Bon Accueil, which has since become the Hôtel de Ville. Over time, nature has reclaimed its rights: the holm oaks have grown, today offering refuge to a discreet fauna made up of squirrels, owls and bats.

In 2022, the Town of Pornichet decided to acquire this privately-owned site in order to create a genuine island of coolness in the town center. The municipal gardeners then embarked on a delicate task: regulating invasive species, designing gentle paths and preserving a large part of the space from trampling. The aim was clear: to allow flora and fauna to flourish in peace, while opening up the site to the public.

Following the restoration of the surrounding walls and final improvements, the Bois des Évens will open its doors to the public this spring. To mark this rebirth, an artists' collective, Solid'Art, is taking over the site. Sculpted from dead wood left on site, their works evoke a marine and mythological universe, transforming the walk into a playful and poetic journey.

Today, the Bois des Évens invites you to slow down. Take a seat on one of the many benches, observe, listen and let your imagination wander. A discreet and precious place, where nature, memory and contemporary creation meet, offering another way of experiencing Pornichet, at the rhythm of calm and contemplation.
