Branféré Wildlife and Botanical Park

Just a short drive from Pornichet, the Branféré animal and botanical park immerses visitors in 45 hectares of unspoilt nature. Here, you can visit on foot, without cars, without artifice, in a landscape designed to give way to the natural behaviors of the animals and the slow pace of the walk.

The park is home to over 1,500 animals of 195 species, from all five continents. Giraffes, okapis, red pandas, Indian rhinoceroses, wallabys, penguins and pygmy hippos roam in semi-liberty across vast multi-species plains. The visitor's gaze wanders freely, with no apparent cages, as he makes his way through a remarkable botanical garden, blending rare species with local vegetation.

The visit gradually becomes a journey around the animal world. From Africa to Asia, via South America, each space tells the story of an ecosystem, an adaptation, a fragile balance. Time stretches out, conducive to observation, contemplation and understanding of the links between species and natural environments.

Branféré also offers a more playful experience with the Parcabout. Suspended in the trees, almost 2,900 m² of nets invite young and old to climb, leap and play above the ground, while remaining immersed in nature. An aerial interlude that completes the visit, without breaking with the spirit of the place.

The park is based on a strong commitment to animal welfare and conservation. Each species benefits from an adapted habitat, designed with the support of a scientific management team specializing in ethology, surrounded by veterinarians and caretakers. As a member of European conservation networks, Branféré participates in numerous programs dedicated to the protection of endangered species and supports concrete actions in the field.

A place of research and innovation, Branféré also hosts scientific studies conducted in partnership with universities. These studies, conducted with respect for the animals, help to advance knowledge while raising public awareness of environmental issues.

Finally, education plays a central role, notably through the École de la Nature. For over twenty years, this educational program has welcomed thousands of students, offering immersive stays, training courses and educational programs designed to raise awareness and encourage a more responsible relationship with living things.

Discovering Branféré is a natural complement to a stay in Pornichet. It offers another way to connect with nature, taking the time to observe, understand and marvel, before returning to the soothing rhythm of the ocean.
