Estuary Land

Located 50 km from Pornichet, in the small port of Cordemais, Terre d’Estuaire offers an engaging and interactive exploration of the heart of the Loire Estuary. This discovery center is designed for anyone who wants to better understand this unique landscape, shaped by water, currents, people, and trade.

The tour, which lasts about two hours, takes visitors on an immersive and participatory journey. Here, you don’t just observe—you get hands-on, experiment, and travel. The journey invites you to follow animal migrations, explore the estuary’s seabed in search of shipwrecks, travel back in time, or take to the skies on a 25-meter hot-air balloon ride to take in the entire landscape.

Each space is designed to make these concepts accessible to visitors of all ages. Interactive exhibits help visitors understand the estuary’s ecological balance, its ecological role, its past and present uses, and the changes it is undergoing. The exploration unfolds gradually, alternating between play, learning, and contemplation.

Terre d’Estuaire also offers workshops specially designed for children ages 3 to 10, as well as temporary exhibitions that enrich the visitor experience throughout the year. The site is thus well-suited for families, curious visitors, and groups—whether school groups, recreational groups, or professional groups.

Open from February through November, the center welcomes the public during school breaks, on weekends, and on holidays, with a dynamic program. Groups are welcome year-round by reservation, allowing for an experience tailored to different audiences.

This exploration of the estuary is a natural complement to a visit to Pornichet.
