Hooray, it’s raining!
1) Curl up in a ball on the sofa in your holiday home and curse the (tiny) raindrops that have come to ruin your day, or 2) choose from one of the many activities that you can enjoy whatever the weather.
As we often say here, ‘after the rain comes the sun’ – so make the most of it!
Be Sherlock for the day and solve a few puzzles
Ever tried an Escape Game? Gather your family or friends and head to ‘Escape Yourself Pornichet’ for an hour of adventure where you can only escape by solving a series of puzzles.
Brave the elements on the coastal path
Surely a few drops of rain won’t stop you? Locals say that Breton showers brighten your complexion, so grab your raincoat and your boots and set out on the coastal paths for a truly invigorating walk!
Remember to save enough energy for the return, and motivate yourself by picturing a sweet crêpe or big hot chocolate as a reward. Well worth it!
Play the odds at the Casino!
Dare yourself to explore the Casino. You don’t need to dress up James-Bond style in your smoking jacket or cocktail dress, smart-casual is the dress code. Try your luck at one of the many games on offer: slot machines, roulette, black jack, Texas Holdem Poker and more. And if you don’t know the rules, there’s always a friendly face among the Casino staff who’ll be happy to help.
Time to find out if you have a gambler’s spirit…
You can also enjoy the on-site restaurant and bar or some of the Casino’s various musical evenings and entertainment nights.
Enjoy a lazy day at the Thalasso Spa!
A little pampering, relaxing, having someone make a fuss of you… Sounds nice, doesn’t it?
Well, you’re in the right place in Pornichet, as we have two Thalasso centres (spas specializing in seawater pools and treatments). We have the Relais Thalasso Château des Tourelles and the Valdys Centre, both entirely focused on helping guests to feel good using the wellbeing properties of all that the sea has to offer. That includes seaweed body-wraps, relaxing massages, seawater baths, aquagym lessons and more – everything you need to feel re-energized.
There is only one downside: you’ll find it difficult to leave!
Lose yourself in a book (or film) at the Médiathèque
The Médiathèque is not only a great place for getting lost in the pages of a good book, it’s also where you can watch a DVD of your favourite film, or simply flick through newspapers and magazines. Snuggle into an armchair while the kids hunt through comics or picture books, and your other half does a spot of research in the local tourist guides to plan your next outing, discover the local history or find some great places to eat.
The Médiathèque also offers very popular events including workshops and fairytale time.
Look! The rain has stopped.
Well, that’s a shame – we still had plenty of other ideas lined up, but we can do those another time.
Drop in to see us at the Tourist Office, where we’ve always got a few inside tips and bright ideas to share with you!
