Electrical distribution
How does electricity reach us?
The conference "Electricity Distribution," presented by Jean-Louis Piquemal and Jacques Barbot, aims to explain how the electricity we use is distributed. From power plants or thermal, wind, and solar power generation units, dams, etc., there is a vast network called the distribution network… all those wires crisscrossing our countryside, those transformer stations generously distributed throughout the country with transformers responsible for raising or lowering the voltage by several thousand volts to finally deliver our good old 220V. Why all these voltages? Why alternating current, single-phase, three-phase, or even direct current?
