At the Vermiraux orphanage, there is no music, no books, and never any games.
Azolan, Basque, and Fracasse are the three orphans who steal Théophile Gautier's *Captain Fracasse* and find freedom through this fictional hero. They invite you to their table to tell you the story of their rebellion against authority, adults, and the suppression of imagination.
With humor and a defiant spirit, the three characters hold up a mirror to each of us, reflecting our own Fracasse, that small crack that becomes the scar of childhood.
Based on Théophile Gautier's work, the characters play at rebellion until it becomes real. With wooden furniture as their only set and an audience at the heart of the action, *Fracasse* immerses us in a powerful story right in the middle of the action.
