The Cinéma La Toile de Mer is organizing an Iraqi film and dinner evening with the preview screening of the film "The President's Cake." Set in Saddam Hussein's Iraq, the film tells the story of 9-year-old Lamia, who is given the daunting task of baking a cake to celebrate the president's birthday. Her quest for ingredients, accompanied by her friend Saeed, turns her life upside down.

The program

  • 6:30 pm: "The President's Cake" by Hasan Hadi, winner of the Audience Award at the Directors' Fortnight and the Caméra d'Or at Cannes 2025. Film duration: 1 hour 42 minutes - Original Version with French Subtitles;
  • around 8:30 pm: dinner consisting of a main course and dessert, provided by the Servanne Bigot restaurant.
